JOB OFFER – TECHNICAL MANAGER
ENGLISH and/or FRENCH SPEAKING TECHNICIAN
Velcan Energy is a dynamic French company that specializes in medium size hydropower projects in emerging countries. We are looking for a Technical Manager to follow up on our projects.
Job Description - The Technical Manager will:
- Work as a pair with a Project Coordinator and provide technical design assistance to him
-Be based in our office in Vientiane, and spend a significant amount of his time on our project sites in various provinces of Lao PDR
-Be responsible for the coordination with local authorities, local partners, local contractors
- Provide technical on site assistance to our engineers
- Organize, follow-up, manage, and report on topographic and/or hydrologic surveys on various sites
- Organize, follow-up, manage, and report on installation of equipment or workings on various sites
Profile – The Technical Manager should:
-Be fluent in English and/or French (spoken and written)
-Be able to work independently and take responsibilities, as well as work within a team
-Be able to install, operate and maintain survey and measure equipment in remote areas
- Be able to get conversant with technical software in order to analyse site measurements
-Have advanced computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) and significant design experience using Autocad 2D
-Have a technical background such as an engineering degree (preferably mechanical or civil engineering), ora significant experience in hydropower project development / topography / hydrology / geology / mechanics
-Be preferably aged between 20 and 35, newly graduated candidates are encouraged to apply.Be adventurous, honest, dynamic, have good negotiation skills and inquiring mind.
