Handicap International (HI) is seeking a Road Safety Education Officer for the Road Safety Project
in Savannakhet. The Road Safety Project’s objective is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents
and the disabilities resulting from these accidents in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and
Transport.
The Road Safety Education Officer’s responsibilities:
• In close collaboration with the Program Manager , Education and Network Manager and Partners, define Education strategies and action plans
• Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for the project activities.
• Coordinate the implementation of Education activities in conjunction with the Education and Networks Manager and responsible government agencies
• Coordination with all stake holders of education for planning for the curriculum implementation in Vientiane and Savannakhet
• Implement Peer to Peer activities in Secondary Schools in Savannakhet
• Manage the production of Education materials
• Prepare activities and budget planning.
• Provide report to program manager regularly
• Translate documents from Lao to English or English to Lao and act as an interpreter as required. Minimum requirements are:
• Relevant Degree in education or another position-related subject;
• 3 years working experience ;
• Proven skills in working with communities;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Computer skills: MS Office, Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop (basic).
• Fluency in written and spoken English or French

 The Public Awareness and Research Manager’s responsibilities:
• In close collaboration with the Program Manager and Partners, define public awareness strategies and action plans
• Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for the project activities.
• Coordinate the implementation of public awareness activities in conjunction with the responsible government agencies
• Manage the production of Road Safety awareness materials such as leaflets, posters, TV and Radio spots and other information material from budgeting to the delivery of the final product.
• Define and conduct Road Safety Researches in close partnership with research center and universities.
• Support Data Collection and Research Officer.
• Support Disability Officer
• Support the Community Based Road Safety
• Manage the documentation of all public awareness and research activities of the project Minimum requirements are:
• Relevant Degree in education or another position-related subject;
• 10 years working experience in a related field ;
• Proven skills in working with communities;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Computer skills: MS Office, Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop (basic).
• Fluency in written and spoken English

This position is based in Vientiane with occasional travel to Savannakhet.
